I like the Patriots -2.5 over the Steelers today. The Pats are always tough to beat and the Pittsburgh offense will have trouble keeping up in a shootout.  We'll also try Carolina at home getting 3.5. Take New England for 165-150 and the Panthers 110-100.  The Eagles are maybe a good pick tonight at -3.5 over Dallas as Andy Reid is a perfect 12-0 after the Bye Week. A Miracle for Cardinals

David Freese and the St. Louis Cardinals just won't go away. Ten and half back on August 25th....what more can you say? Freese the local kid who grew up in St. Louis comes through twice? C'mon Hollywood could not have scripted this thing better!! With $100 win the baseball bank is now plus $255. Goodnight all!! A miracle sometimes does happen!! Ok, Carpenter and  St. Louis couldn't get done on Monday night and with $50 in game 1 and the 120 loss in game five, the baseball bank now stands at plus $155 with 240 riding on the series. We need St.Louis tonight . . They are back home for games 6 and maybe , just maybe , the Cards can actually get a hit with men in scoring position. They had so many chances to put Texas under Monday night it was ridiculous . Okay take the Cards tonight for $140-100. Go Pujols .

World Series Pick

Lets start the week off right. The World Series starts tonight in St.Louis and that's who we'll take. Take the Cards for the $240-200 in the series and take them to start with a bang tonight for $85-50. The Cards improbable run to the world series is anything but lucky. Call it historic,ironic, improbable....even a long shot but the Cards earned their right to be in the Series by beating a great Philadelphia team. So, we'll ride the La Russo, Pujols wagon right down victory lane. The Pro-Baseball bank stands at plus $225.

Picks this Week (week 6)

At first glance nothing really jumped right out at me like last week. I may be tempted to get on the sinking ship (the Eagles).  They didn't give up against the Bills despite being down the whole game.They battled back well, and despite 5 turnovers, could've pulled out overtime if they don't jump offsides.  A clean game against the Skins and I think they'll win this week   I can't bet on it , but the Lions -49ers game is a great game this Sunday.  This may be slow weekend for us players nothing is standing out this week.current odds

Perfect 3-0 Weekend

To all who read my posts yesterday..your welcome. I was a perfect 3-0 this weekend (1 college pick two pro picks including my lock of the week Minnesota over Arizona. They won 34-10. Raiders beat the Texans 25-21 And Arkansas beat Auburn 38-14. Maybe now you know why  this blog is called Beat-the-Spread-this -Week.  My Pro football bank is now +575 with the $300 win yesterday.

Eagles Look Poor Again

The Dream Team continues to be a nightmare in Philadelphia.  The play , right before the half-time has Michael Vick throwing 2 passes into the end zone when they could've had a chance for an easy 3 points.  What is Andy Reid and Michael Vick thinking? Instead of being down 11 they're down 14 and a failed on-sides kick isn't helping. Luckily they dodged a bullet with the referee's help. Andy Reid and M. Vick had better wake up as the fans have had enough.  I know I have.

Arkansas 24 point winner

I gave out another winner last night, as Arkansas Beat Auburn 38-14 For a 24 point win.  Since they were favored by 10.5 The win puts my college football total to plus $240.  Well it's Pro-day today and we are gonna make some money .......tune back in in 1 hour or so, 11 am Eastern time and we'll go over our picks.....

Phillies down 'n' Out

The Phillies never could figure out Chris Carpenter who pitched a brilliant 3 hit shut-out as the Phils fall 1 nothing.  The Cardinals scored only 1, in the first after a lead-off triple, but it was enough with Carpenter pitching. Hope you gamblers took my advice and backed off this play at 180-165.  To those who took the 165 congrats. Sorry Phils.  Thanks for a great season!!

My Mistake on Phils Line

It seems I've been given some bad info. The Philadelphia-St.Louis baseball line is 180-165 Phillies.  This is a huge difference from the 125-100 line I thought it originally was. At 180-to win a 100 This game is no bet!! Sure the Phils may/should still win, but those odds simply aren't worth it. Sorry folks!

Phillies Tonight

I like to handicap baseball more than any other sport. Trouble is the play-offs can be a little tough. The Phillies with Doc Halladay starting tonight and only a 125-100 favorite seems like a good play to me.  The Cards have given them all they can handle in Philly, but tonight look for Halladay to close out the series with a win for the Phils. With Halladay pitching at home any other time during the season, the Fightin Phils would be a much more heavily favored play. Carpenter (pitching for Cards) is also having a great year, but tonight  with the Phillies home , the crowd revved up, look for Philadelphia to pull out a win. 

Death of the Dream Team

So, the Philadelphia Eagles no longer want to be called the dream team.  Well, it's about time. Whether it was that label that got them off to a horrendous 1-3 start (with 3 conference losses)   or the relatively easy opening season win over the hapless Rams, the Birds are in trouble!  Now they travel to Buffalo to play the surprising Bills who are no joke.  Look for the Birds to play inspired ball however, as their season could hinge on this weeks game.  Another poor performance and the Boo-Birds will be out in Philly in force.  The Eagles need to defend the run and take pressure off Vick with their own ground game. If Vick has to pass 35+ times this week it looks bad for the men in green.  But this author sees an inspired play  by the Eagles and they could be worth a small, again small, investment.

Best pick this week

I'll give you first timers a free play this weekend.  Look for the Vikings to get off the doughnut over the cardinals.The Vikes have played relatively well despite the 0-4 start. They gave Detroit one of their toughest tests and could have / should have beat KC last week. Look for the Vikes to pull out a win this week.
